TFC Lady Screaming Eagles wins one, loses 2

The Toccoa Fall College Women’s Volleyball team won one match but lost 2 in in the NCCAA Division 2 National Championship held this past week in Greenville. The Lady Screaming Eagles lost their first pool play match against Maranatha, the reigning National Champs the past two years. TFC lost their second pool play match against Randall University in 4 sets. In their last play-off match against Johnson University of Tennessee, TFC won in three sets to end their season on a winning note. Maranatha went on to win the championship for the third consecutive year, beating Kentucky Christian in three sets.

Two TFC players won tournament honors: Senior Kaitlin Weidner, a senior from Corry, PA, won Scholar Athlete, NCCAA First Team All American, and NCCAA All Tournament team (one of only 7 players chosen from the 8 teams represented) and Junior Katie Hall, a junior from Flowery Branch, won Scholar Athlete and AVCA Second Team All American.
