Tennis: Lady Indians continue their shutout streak

On the tennis court, the Stephens County High School tennis teams split with region rival Franklin County yesterday afternoon at home.  

The Lady Indians swept all 3 singles and both doubles to win by a match score of 5-0 against the Lions. It was their fourth shutout of the season.  Nyleigh Hutto, Maddie McGee, and Emma Summerlin all won their singles matches. Kara Jones & Ellen Aakerman Broddvall won at #1 doubles and Laura Sanders & Fayeth Ivester won at #2 doubles The Lady Indians are undefeated, with a 7-0 record, and are 2-0 in region play.

Winning matches for the Indians were Rusty Spencer at #1 singles and Gavin Wilkinson & Clayton Jones at #1 doubles, but the Indians lost by a match score of 2-3. With this loss, the Indians have a 4-3 overall record and a 1-1 region record.

The next match for the tennis teams is tomorrow at Hebron Christian.
