TCC will meet today for regular scheduled meeting

The Toccoa City Commission will meet today for its regular scheduled meeting.

The meeting will be conducted through teleconference; anyone wishing to attend the meeting can call in at 706-898-5160.

Up for discussion is a consideration of Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) funding for the Eastanollee Wastewater Plant upgrades.

According to City Manager Billy Morse Phase I of the project is estimated to cost $7,332,000. The term of the loan is 30 years at an interest rate of 2.17 percent.

Morse says there is an origination fee of $73,320, (1 percent) that is due after the loan closing.

Additionally, GEFA has approved the city for a Principal Forgiveness Grant of $1-million, if all funds are drawn.

According to Morse the project at the Wastewater Plant will include upgrades to existing plant headworks and related appurtenances.

Later in the meeting, officials with Stephens County Hospital will come before the commission to give an update regarding the hospital’s current standings.

Lastly, the Commission will receive the monthly financial report from City Finance Director Becky Bohannon.

Again, the Toccoa City Commission will meet today at 5:00 p.m. for its regular scheduled meeting.
