TCC will meet this evening for Regular Scheduled Meeting, First Reading of FY23 Budget

The Toccoa City Commission will meet this evening for its regular scheduled meeting.

The meeting will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. inside the City Commission/Court Room at Toccoa City Hall.

Up for consideration is a rezoning request from Cynthia D. Miller for the George Miller Estate Property located at 103 South Pine Street. The Commission will also hold a public hearing on this matter prior to making a decision.

The Commission will hold a public hearing and first reading of the Fiscal Year 2023 Operating Budget.

The proposed budget includes $11,513,582 in the General Fund; $12,198,163 in the Water/Wastewater Fund, $12,461,902 in the Natural Gas Fund, $1,247,593 in the Solid Waste Fund, and $420,101 in the Lake Toccoa Facilities Fund.

The total operating funds budget is $37,841,341.

The budget also includes a reserve fund of $636,139 and a Special Revenue Fund of $2,593,263.

For all funds the total budget for Fiscal Year 2023 comes to $41,070,743.

If approved, the budget would include a utility rate increase for the solid waste fund of $1 per residential rollout and 5% for commercial; however, no other utility rate increases have been included.

The Commission will also consider a resolution for grant funding from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Rural Downtown Redevelopment Grant.

Lastly, the commission will consider an election ballot for the Georgia Municipal Associations District 2 Officers.

Again, the City Commission will meet today at 5:00 p.m. for its regular scheduled meeting inside the City Commission/Court Room at Toccoa City Hall.
