TCC will continue to meet by teleconference out of caution for the spread of COVID-19

The Toccoa City Commission met Monday for its regular scheduled meeting; during which, the commission agreed to continue meeting by teleconference instead of resuming in-person meetings.

Mayor Evan Hellenga explained that regardless how the city commission meets, the work of the City continues without interruption.

Commissioner Gail Fry recommended that the commission continue to meet by teleconference.

Fry cited that because District 2 Public Health has now halted making appointments for the public to be vaccinated that meeting by teleconference would be the safest way to continue meeting.

Commissioner Terry Carter seconded Fry’s motion.

Hellenga said that continuing to hold the Commission meetings by teleconference was the safest way to move forward.

The motion was approved unanimously.
