Up for consideration during today’s meeting includes a discussion regarding the 2020 Tax Millage Rate for Toccoa.

According to City Manager Billy Morse, the current digest figures includes an inflationary increase in real property.

He says the city’s millage rate for 2019 is 6.00 mills; however, if in 2020 the rate was reduced to 5.987 mills, the Net Tax Levied would be greater than 2019.

Additionally, the Commission will consider a lease agreement for Ping’s Grill.

According to Morse, an owner of both Midtown Grill locations in Habersham County is interested in utilizing the City facility to own and operate Ping’s Grill.

The lease agreement will be for 24-months with a renewal of an additional 3 years.

No rent will be required for the first 3 months; but will increase to $1,000 a month in month four, $1,500 in month ten and $2,000 in month sixteen.

Lastly, the Commission will consider an agreement for Application Preparation and General Administrative Services with the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission.

Again, the Toccoa City Commission will meet today at 5:00 p.m. through teleconference.
