TCC will consider resolution for USDA grant during regular scheduled meeting, today

The Toccoa City Commission will meet later today for its regular scheduled meeting.

Up for consideration is a resolution for a grant application through the USDA.

Recently the United States Department of Agriculture issued a notice of funding availability for the Rural Business Development Grant.

If the city receives the grant, the funds would be allocated in Fiscal Year 2021.

According to City Staff, the grant funds, if awarded, would be used to continue the city’s ongoing efforts to revitalize the Lake Toccoa Area.

Specifically, the city will use the funds for infrastructure improvements at Lake Toccoa.

The total proposed project cost to perform renovation work is estimated just below $200,000.

The grant would provide $99,999.99 or 50 percent of the total cost.

In other business, the Toccoa City Commission will receive its monthly financial report.

The Toccoa City Commission meeting is slated to begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. inside the City Commission Court Room at City Hall.

As always, the public is invited to attend.
