TCC readopts Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement

The Toccoa City Commission approved a motion readopting the Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement during its regular scheduled meeting last night.

Every four years, the City and County must readopt the Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement to ensure both receive grant assistance from the State and Federal Government.

City Manager Billy Morse told the commission that the City’s current agreement is set to expire on March 1, 2020.

The agreement is exactly the same as the one approved in 2016, with no changes or amendments.

Morse says the agreement lays out the process of providing and receiving assistance in case of a disaster or emergency situation.

In other business the Commission approved a resolution for the Georgia Council for the Arts Grant Application.

Morse says the city is requesting $6,000, to continue the Night at the Ritz series for its fourth season. If approved, the city would match the $6,000 grant.

The city commission unanimously approved both the Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement and the Resolution for the Georgia Council for the Arts Grant Application.
