TCC makes various appointments for 2022

The Toccoa City Commission met on Monday for its regular scheduled meeting; during which, the Commission ratified its Mayor and Vice-Mayor Elections.

As WNEG News previously reported, the Commission elected Commissioner Jeanette Jamieson as Mayor and Commissioner David Austin as Vice Mayor for 2022.

The Commission then made appointments for City Manager, City Clerk, and City Chaplain.

Billy Morse was reappointed City Manager, Fredda Wheeler as City Clerk, and Paul Garrison as City Chaplain.

Commissioner Gail Fry made a motion approving the aforementioned appointments, with Vice-Mayor David Austin seconding the motion.

As Jamieson’s first act as Mayor, she made her appointments for 2022.

Commissioner Evan Hellenga and Jamieson were appointed to the Humane Shelter Committee.

Austin was appointed to serve on the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission.

Jamieson was appointed to serve on the Stephens County Development Authority, the Airport Authority, and the Rural Conservation and Development Board.

Carter was appointed to serve on the Downtown Development Authority, the Historic Preservation Commission.

Fry was appointed to serve on the Stephens County Board of Health and the Keep Toccoa-Stephens County Beautiful Board.

Carter made a motion approving Jamieson’s appointments with Hellenga seconding the motion.

Jamieson thanked the commissioners for their willingness to serve.

All appointments were unanimously approved.
