TCC approves rezoning request

The Toccoa City Commission held a public hearing during its recent meeting to consider a rezoning request.

Toccoa Mayor Jeanette Jamieson explained that the rezoning request is from Cynthia D. Miller for the Estate Property of George Miller located at 103 South Pine Street.

The public hearing was opened by City Attorney John Dickerson, who invited the public to come forward to speak in favor of or in opposition to the request; however, no one came forward to speak.

Toccoa’s Community Development Director Connie Tabor provided the City Commission with a report from the planning commission.

“The recommendation of the planning commission is to approve the request,” she said.

A motion was made by Vice Mayor David Austin with Commissioner Terry Carter seconding the motion.

The motion was approved unanimously.
