TCC adopts FY22 Budget

The Toccoa City Commission held the second reading and public hearing for the proposed Fiscal Year 2022 Operating Budget on Monday during the commission’s regular scheduled meeting.

City Manager Billy Morse explained that the budget for Fiscal Year 2022 is an increase of $6,117,596 or 18.8 percent over last year’s budget.

He says the budget totals $38,650,006.

Morse continued to explain that the budget does not include a tax increase.

“That increase is due to the Eastanollee Creek Wastewater plant improvements project—A multimillion dollar project that we will be working on for the next year or two. Overall, there are no property tax, millage rate increases proposed. There are no utility rate increases proposed. The budget does include a proposed incremental salary increase of $1,500 for each of our Full-time employees,” he said.

No citizen came forward during the public hearing.

Commissioner David Austin made a motion approving the budget for Fiscal Year 2022 with Commissioner Terry Carter seconding the motion.

The motion was approved unanimously.
