Tabor reappointed to GMRC by TCC

The Toccoa City Commission reappointed Connie Tabor as the Private Sector Representative on the Georgia Mountain Regional Commission.

According to City Manager Billy Morse, each county on the GMRC Council must have one Private Sector Appointee.

He says the appointee is decided on by the Stephens County Board of Commissioners and the Toccoa City Commission jointly, both have agreed to reappoint Tabor for the position.

A motion was made by Commissioner Gail Fry reappointing Tabor to be the Private Sector Representative with Commissioner Terry Carter seconding the motion.

The motion was approved unanimously.

Commissioner David Austin told the Commission that the Georgia Mountain Regional Commission was unanimous to reappoint Tabor.

Tabor will serve from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.

In other business, the Commission approved a memorandum of understanding for the Georgia Exceptional Main Streets Program.

Morse says every year Main Street Toccoa must agree to an MOU with Georgia Main Street to utilize the GEMS designation and participate in the Georgia Main Street Program.

Commissioner David Austin made a motion approving the MOU with Carter seconding the motion.

The motion was approved unanimously.
