T-SC and Habersham Chambers Hold Joint After Hours

The Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce and Habersham County Chamber of Commerce held a joint after hours at the Shepherd’s Hill Academy Welcome Center on Thursday in Martin.

Habersham County Chamber President Mary Beth Horton says it is a great opportunity to connect and meet new faces. “It is always nice to collaborate with our neighbors and Julie and her team do such a great job here in Toccoa-Stephens County. We like for our members in Habersham to mix and mingle with the members of Toccoa-Stephens County. It’s a win-win for us both and it give us the opportunity to meet new faces and learn about new businesses.”

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber President Julie Paysen says it is nice to get back together and bring back an event from the past. “I have been in this position eight years now and long before I got here Toccoa-Stephens County and Habersham County were doing this event, but since the pandemic we have not been able to get together. So, we are excited to join forces and it is an opportunity to introduce our team with their team cross that county line, a lot of us do business together already so it is a great excuse to get together here at Shepherd’s Hill Academy where they are doing such an amazing job.”

The Director of Admissions and Program Development of Shepherd’s Hill Academy, Allison Wallace, says the Joint After Hours was a great opportunity to host the two communities. “I think that it is a great opportunity to get the two communities together to share what we love to do and what we are passionate about. I love the community pride that each chamber brings. It is a great blessing to be a part of it and see people show up and support one another.”

Shepherd’s Hill Academy is located on Price Road in Martin and treats teens with addiction issues and behavioral conditions and offer Christ-centered holistic and evidence-based practices including nature-based therapy, academics, residential year-round therapy, and clinical therapeutics.

Wallace says there are many wonderful things happening at Shepherd’s Hill. “We are in the middle of our capital campaign and building our cafeteria with a conference center above and hopefully we can host events like these and even bigger inside. We are excited and just poured the concrete and there is a lot more to come.”
