T.A.R.S Ham Radio Open House slated for this weekend

This weekend, Toccoa Amateur Radio Society is hosting Field Day, a Ham Radio open house.

Every June, more than 40,000 ham radio enthusiasts throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio science, skill and service to communities around the nation.

It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event.

Field Day has been an annual event since 1933 and remains the most popular event in Ham Radio.

Join the Toccoa Amateur Radio Society for Field Day on Saturday from 2 p.m. until Sunday at 2 p.m. at Toccoa-Stephens County R.G. LeTourneau Field Airport, located at 2201 E. Tugalo Street, in Toccoa.
