Suspects involved in armed robbery remain at-large

Two-weeks have passed since two men committed armed robbery at Flying J Travel Plaza, in Carnesville. Both suspects remain at large. According to authorities with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, they continue to ask for the public’s help in identifying the two suspects involved.

The incident happened around 3 a.m., Saturday, September 22, when two armed black males entered the business; and demanded and took cash from the store registers.

Before fleeing on foot, one of the men shot, at close range, a customer in the upper chest.

Witnesses reported seeing a Tan or Gray full-sized SUV leaving the parking lot across the street, and entered I-85 on the south bound entrance ramp.

The customer who sustained injuries, was treated by Franklin County Emergency Medical Services, he was then transported to a hospital in Athens, Georgia; his injuries were life threatening but he is in stable condition.

According to surveillance video, the victim offered no resistance, nor posed any threats to the armed intruders.

Authorities have determined that the victim was intentionally shot by one of the armed robbers.

One of the suspects is a black male believed to be in his early teens, and small build.

He was wearing a gray-black hoodie with the word “LOVE” across the front, and on the right arm of the hoodie, blue jeans, red shoes, a blue bandana, and carrying a black revolver.  

He has been identified as the suspect that fired two rounds.

The second suspect is a heavy black male, with red pants, black hoodie, blue bandana, black shoes, red underwear, and was carrying a stainless-chrome revolver.

The suspected vehicle is a tan or light gray SUV, Tahoe or Suburban, 2007 or newer model.

According to officials, the suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
