Suspect who stopped two teenagers on Cornelia Hwy. possibly impersonating an officer

On the evening of September 30, a man driving a black sedan with a blue light bar on top of the vehicle, stopped two teenage victims as they were traveling on Cornelia Highway/SR 365.

He approached the victims in their vehicle and told them he was going to write them a ticket for reckless driving. The driver gave the suspect their license and he took a photo of it. He left the scene without giving any documentation to the victims.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office determined there were no legitimate traffic stops performed in that area at the time the incident occurred, and are currently searching for the man, whom they believe to be impersonating an officer, according to information released by HCSO yesterday afternoon.

Each victim met separately with GBI sketch artist Kelly Lawson and provided descriptions of the suspect, and the two sketches only have minor differences.  Copies of the sketches are available attached to this article on wnegradio.com.

The suspect is described as a white male, age 40-50, who is bald, or has very short light-colored hair, a scruffy beard and crooked yellowing teeth.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to contact Hall County Dispatch at 770-536-8812 to make a report.
