Stephens County’s Swillings to be Inducted in Georgia Football High School Hall of Fame

Two local Stephens County High School standouts have been selected to the 2023 Georgia Football High School Hall of Fame according to Georgia High School Football Daily.

The publication lists cousins Pat Swilling and Ken Swilling as two of the 40-member class that will be inducted this year.

Pat Swilling, a member of the Stephens County High School Class of 1981, played his college football at Georgia Tech where he set the single game sack record and was voted first team All-American, and then a lengthy stay in the NFL that included five pro bowl seasons and the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1991.

Ken Swilling, a member of the Stephens County High School Class of 1987, also played at Georgia Tech where he was an All-American and member of the 1990 National Championship team.

Stephens County is only one of four Georgia high schools to have two players elected this year.
