Stephens County still reporting 165 cases of COVID-19

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, Stephens County remains at 165 cases of COVID-19.

To date, Stephens County has had five deaths due to complications from COVID-19.

Habersham County continues to be the county hit the hardest in our area with 639 positive cases of the virus and 34 fatalities due to complications from the virus.

Locally, at Stephens County Hospital, staff have tested 1,634 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 175 tests have come back positive with 133 patients receiving positive results, 1,406 received negative results, and 53 individuals are still awaiting their results.

According to hospital staff, of those 133 who have tested positive at Stephens County Hospital and its facilities, 113 have now fully recovered from COVID-19.

Additionally, there is one patient currently hospitalized at Stephens County Hospital with a confirmed case of COVID-19, and one other who is awaiting results.

In other neighboring counties, Banks County has a total of 114 cases, Rabun County has 35 cases and four deaths, Franklin County has 158 cases and one death, and Hart County has 50 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 65,928 cases, of those, 9,953 have been hospitalized and 2,648 have died from complications of the virus.
