Stephens County Sheriff’s Deputy injured in wreck expected to make full recovery

A Stephens County Sheriff’s Deputy is recovering after an on-duty wreck this weekend in Toccoa.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, on June 20, at approximately 1:20 p.m., a Stephens County Sheriff’s vehicle, driven by Arron Moss, was responding to a 911 call with lights and siren activated when it crashed.

Shirley says while traveling west on East Tugalo Street, Moss was negotiating a curve, when the vehicle traveled off the roadway onto the southern shoulder.

The vehicle struck two driveway culverts, crossed a driveway, and then overturned while traveling down an embankment.

Shirley says the vehicle came to a final rest on its wheels off the roadway.

Moss was treated at Northeast Georgia Medical Center for unspecified injuries.

He is expected to recover.
