Stephens County Schools Release First Weekly Covid Update

During the recent Board of Education meeting, Stephens County School Superintendent Dr. Daniel Oldham asked for the board’s support to move forward with his plans to report a weekly COVID-19 update.

Oldham says the weekly report will include the number of students in the school system with a positive COVID-19 test result, the number of employees with a positive COVID-19 test result, the number of students in quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure and the number of employees in quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure.

The first report was released today and reads as follows:

1 staff member with a positive Covid-19 test.

14 staff members quarantined.

62 students quarantined at home

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees

The Stephens County School System notes that these numbers represent the current active cases for the week ending August 21, 2020 only, and are not a running total.
