Stephens County Schools-Habersham County Closed Tuesday Due to Weather Threat

The Stephens County School System has announced that schools will be closed tomorrow. The following announcement was posted just minutes ago.

“Stephens County Schools will be closed Tuesday, January 9 due to the threat of severe weather.  The National Weather Service is predicting excessive rainfall in a short amount of time, flash flooding, and peak wind gusts, which have the potential for downed trees and power lines. The safety of our students, student drivers, and staff is our primary concern. Again, all Stephens County schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, January 9. There will be no after-school activities, games, practices, or other activities on Tuesday, Jan. 9. Thank you for your support as safety is our number one priority.”

Habersham County Schools have also announced that schools will be closed Tuesday due to the unusual and serious weather system and the potential for heavy rain, high wind gusts, flooding, and downed trees.
