Stephens County School Superintendent Dr. Oldham reassigned

The Stephens County Board of Education and Stephens County School Superintendent Dr. Daniel Oldham agreed during a Special Called Meeting on Friday, August 6, that Dr. Oldham would be reassigned from his duties as superintendent to that of transitional coordinator.

In a press release issued Friday, the Board of Education says “given the beginning of the new school year, Oldham will continue to serve the district in a position designed to promote a smooth transition to an interim superintendent and ultimately to a new superintendent of schools.

The Board of Education expresses its appreciation to Dr. Oldham for his leadership and contributions to the school district during his service as superintendent, but the Board wants to go in a different direction.

Dr. Oldham expresses his thanks and gratitude for the encouragement and most of all the support of the staff, parents, and community.

The Superintendent and all of the Board members are committed to a smooth and productive transition, continuing to address the needs of the school district and providing the best possible education for the students of Stephens County.

Stephens County Deputy Superintendent Matt Thompson will assume the responsibilities of the superintendent until an interim can be named by the Board.”
