Stephens County residents vote republican in runoff election

The results are in for the January 5th General Runoff Election.

In Stephens County, registered voters took to the polls to select candidates for United States Senate seats and for Public Service Commissioner.

The following results are how Stephens County residents voted and does not represent how the entire State voted.

For United States Senate voters chose between Republican Incumbent David A. Perdue and Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff.

Perdue won in Stephens County with 7,979 total votes; whereas Ossoff received 2.058 votes.

For United States Senate, to fill the unexpired term of Johnny Isakson, voters chose between Republican incumbent Kelly Loeffler and Democratic challenger Raphael Warnock.

Loeffler won in Stephens County with 7,975 total votes; whereas Warnock received 2,059 votes.

For Public Service Commissioner voters chose between Republican incumbent Lauren Bubba McDonald, Jr. and Democratic candidate Daniel Blackman.

McDonald, Jr. won in Stephens County with 8,024 total votes; whereas Blackman received 1,903 votes.

The results for the entire state of Georgia is expected to be released later on Wednesday by the Secretary of State’s Office.
