Stephens County Remains at 91 cases of COVID-19

The Georgia Department of Public Health continues to report 91 cases of COVID-19 in Toccoa-Stephens County.

Stephens County hasn’t experienced an increase in cases since Thursday, May 7.

Habersham County continues to be the county hit the hardest in our area with 386 positive cases of the virus and 16 fatalities due to complications from the virus.

Locally, at Stephens County Hospital, staff have tested 689 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 81 tests have come back positive, 601 received negative results, and 7 individuals are still awaiting their results.

Of the 81 who have tested positive at Stephens County Hospital and its facilities, a total of 54 have fully recovered from COVID-19.

In other neighboring counties, Banks County has a total of 36 cases, Rabun County has 14 cases and one death, Franklin County has 26 cases and one death, and Hart County has 17 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 33,833 cases, of those, 6,001 have been hospitalized and 1,405 have died from complications of the virus.
