Stephens County remains at 24 COVID-19 Cases, Habersham County now at 44

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting 24 cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County.

As of 12 p.m. Thursday, the Department of Public Health updated its website to include the most recent numbers.

Locally, Stephens County Hospital continues to treat eleven individuals for the virus.

According to Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester, the hospital has completed 116 tests on individuals for COVID-19, of those 116, 11 have tested positive for the virus, 91 have received negative results, and 14 results are still pending.

In neighboring Habersham County there are 44 cases with two dying from complications of the virus, in Banks County nine, Rabun County seven, Franklin County seven, and Hart County five.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 15,454 cases, of those, 3,040 have been hospitalized and 584 have died from complications of the virus.
