New Impressions Wing at Hospital Gets New Name

Just a reminder of a special event this weekend at the Stephens County Hospital’s New Impressions wing.

On Saturday, August 11, the hospital will hold a special open house to showcase what will now be called the Women’s Wellness Center.

Assistant Marketing Director Courtney Watson says it’s part of a new hospital effort called Growing Our Community.

Watson says it is hoped the name change will bring more women in for services.

“We’ve had New Impressions as the name of our women’s center and sometimes women don’t even know that we offer women’s services. One of the first steps of the re-branding is knowing all of the women’s services we do offer,” she explained.

Watson said future plans for the Women’s Wellness Center include an off-campus unit. And Dr. Katie McKinney will also be expanding her services, according to Watson.

The open house, on the 11th she said will be a fun event for the family.

“This is all family fun and free. I encourage everyone to bring out their kids. We’ll have bouncy houses, refreshments, and tours of the Women’s Wellness Center,” Watson said. “If you sign up to do a tour, you will be entered in a drawing for a new backpack. We’ll also have new school supplies to give away, backpacks to give away, and supplies for teachers as well.”

Again the open house at the Stephens County Hospital Women’s Wellness Center takes place Saturday, August 11 from 9a to 11a.
