Stephens County Hospital Moving Ahead on Multiple Initiatives

A new cardiac program, a major shift in medical records handling, changes in nursing procedures, and financial reports in the black – it’s already been a busy year for Stephens County Hospital, and hospital administration is enthusiastic about the progress.

Hospital CEO Van Loskoski sat down with WNEG News last week to talk about some of the recent changes at the local hospital, and what lies ahead this year.

He said that, according to the latest financial reports, the hospital is now operating in the black.

Loskoski gave an update on several new initiatives and services at the hospital, including the new hospitalist team and a new cardiology partnership with Northside Hospital.

He said the advancements are not only good for the hospital as a service provider, but present a large benefit to the health and welfare of local residents.

He added that being able to offer this high level of service locally means fewer patients have to be transported to other facilities.

Loskoski touched on the success of the hospital’s stroke program, which is nearing its 1st anniversary.

In addition to new medical services, Loskoski said the hospital is reaching new levels of excellence in patient satisfaction.

WNEG News will air the continuation of our interview with Loskoski later this week.
