Stephens County Hospital adds one more positive case of COVID-19 to its list, now at 9

Stephens County Hospital continues to report the number of COVID-19 cases that are being treated at its facilities throughout the county.

As of this morning, the hospital reported 95 individuals had been tested for the virus; of those, nine have received positive test results, 79 received negative results, and seven individuals are still awaiting their results.

According to Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester, seven patients have been hospitalized at Stephens County Hospital, who were positive for COVID-19.

He says some of those were individuals the hospital tested, some were tested elsewhere and sent to Stephens County Hospital for admission.

Of those seven, Hester says, who were hospitalized at Stephens County Hospital, three have returned home and are recovering. Three remain hospitalized at Stephens County Hospital and one has been transferred to another facility.

Stephens County Hospital Vice President of Physician Practices Van Loskoski says the hospital will continue to monitor COVID-19 at its facility.

He says after partnering with new labs to process test results, patients are now getting their results back faster, with some receiving results as quickly as 24 hours later.
