Stephens County Historical Society needs help from community

Stephens County Historical Society is in need of support.

According to Stephens County Historical Society Executive Director Brenda Carlan, the museum is dependent on visitors, admissions, membership dues, gift shop sales and donations to continue operations and preservation of its collection of artifacts and memorabilia; however, due to temporarily closing to help slow the rate of infection and to mitigate the risk that COVID-19 poses, the future of the museum is uncertain.

She says with travel restrictions in place it will take the museum longer as a small business to “bounce back” from this economic decline.

Carlan says the support of the community is vital during this time.

She adds that there are several options available for community members to show their support, through donations and memberships.
