Stephens County enters next phase for DNR grant

Stephens County has been selected to move into the next phase of grant funding for the installation of a community Splash Pad.

The Department of Natural Resources announced that Stephens County’s grant application through the Land and Water Conservation Fund for $100,000 has been selected to move into the formal application period.

The formal application will be submitted to the Department of Interior-National Park Service (NPS) who will give the final project approval; however, if the county’s application is selected and approved, funds will not be appropriated until the federal shutdown is over.

In order to get funds appropriated, the county must meet multiple deadlines in the next few months.
