Stephens County Elections Office reminds voters to leave firearms at home

Stephens County Election Supervisor Krista Terry is reminding voters that election day voting will look a little different in November.

Terry says, voters will be able to cast ballots at the Stephens County Senior Center and the Stephens County Recreation Department’s Gym adjacent to the Senior Center on election day.

She says the gym will provide space for additional voting machines to ensure the election’s office is compliant to state requirements.

All early voting will still be held at the Historic Stephens County Courthouse.

Additionally, Terry says you may see a mailer in your mailbox telling you to register to vote; however, there have been interest groups sending out the mailers.

Terry also stressed that the last day to register to vote and be eligible to vote in the November 8th election is October 11, 2022.

Lastly, Terry reminds residents who will be going to the polls that you must leave your firearms at home.
