Stephens County E-911 Center Employee Tests positive for Covid-19

A Stephens County E-911 Center employee has tested positive for Covid-19.

Just after 6:30 P.M. this evening, Stephens County Commission Chairman Dennis Bell confirmed to WNEG that the employee is quarantined at home and each employee of E-911 has been tested for the virus.

Those tests results are likely to come back Friday.

According to Bell, extensive cleaning and sterilizing has been done at the E-911 center.

WNEG has learned that the E-911 center will operate in shifts, with the shift rotation that was working with the employee that tested positive, also sent home for seven days. The shift that was not exposed to the individual will be at the E-911 center for seven days and rotated out after evaluation.

The E-911 Center is said to be equipped and ready for an extensive stay emergency.

WNEG will have more details as they become available.
