Stephens County DFCS closing doors, temporarily relocating to Banks County

Stephens County Department of Family and Children Services will be closing its doors on Friday, August 28.

The office will temporarily relocate to the Banks County DFCS location, at 154 Windmill Farm Road, in Homer.

According to Andrea Cobb with the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services all constituents needing economic assistance and child welfare services in Stephens County are encouraged to access self-service options online.

She says to apply for Food Stamps and Medicaid and Temporary Assistance of Needy Families or TANF Benefits visit gateway.ga.gov.

Cobb says those without internet access can contact the DFCS Customer Contact Center by calling 877-423-4746 to apply for benefits, check the status of existing applications or request assistance.

At this time, no date has been set for the Stephens County office, located at 64 Boulevard, Suite 101, in Toccoa, to resume operations.

Additionally, ongoing updates will be posted at dfcs.ga.gov.

Again, on Friday, August 28, the Stephens County DFCS office will be closing its doors, and relocating to the Banks County DFCS location.
