Stephens County Annual Fireworks Display is tonight

The Stephens County Recreation Department is hosting the annual Fourth of July fireworks show tonight behind the Rose Lane ball fields at the Recreation Department.

Recreation Director Richard Adams said that people should begin arriving around 6:00 p.m. and the fireworks will begin just after dark.

“People will start arriving around 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. and we won’t start shooting fireworks until right after dark,” he said. “The place will fill-up so I suggest to come around 6:30 and bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets or blankets.”

According to Adams, each year the community responds well to the fireworks display.

Adams said the show will go on rain or shine and concessions will also be open with various food items, snow cones, and glow necklaces.

He adds that the best spot to view the display is in the Rose Lane Ball Park.

“You’ll be able to see the fireworks from Wal-Mart, and around the area, but the best view will be right here in your park,” he said.

As always, the display is free to attend.

Tonight’s music during the fireworks will be provided by WNEG.
