Stacy Hall announces bid for 50th District Georgia State Senate

Habersham County Commission Chairman Stacy Hall has announced his intention to run for election in the Georgia State Senate.

Hall announced his bid for the 50th District seat, last week, following current 50th District State Senator John Wilkinson’s announcement to run for the 9th District Congressional Seat, currently held by Doug Collins.

Hall recently announced that he would not seek re-election to the Habersham County Commission citing one of the reasons to spend time with his family.

In a press release, Hall writes quote “Although interested, I had not originally planned to run for this office at this time. However, after overwhelming support and encouragement throughout the district as well as much prayer and discussion with my family, it was clear that I needed to pursue this office to protect our North Georgia values in Atlanta,” end quote.

Hall is currently in his second year as Chairman of the Habersham County Board of Commissioners.

He said he plans to complete his term as commissioner which ends December of this year.

Senate District 50 includes all of Banks, Franklin, Habersham, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, and parts of Hall and Jackson counties.
