Stabbing this morning resulted in one fatality, one injury; suspect has been detained
UPDATE- 12:27 pm – WNEG News has been informed by local law-enforcement officials that, regarding the stabbing incident on Preacher Savage Road this morning, there is no danger to the public, the suspect has been detained, and the incident is an isolated event.
WNEG News will update the story as soon as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which is now handling the investigation, provides additional information.
UPDATE: WNEG has been told, in an unofficial report from individuals on scene at the site of the stabbing this morning near Nub Garland Road and Currahee Lane, that there was one fatality. Law-enforcement officials with Stephens County Sheriff’s Office have advised WNEG News that state law-enforcement officials are handling the incident and any further information will need to come from them. WNEG will continue to monitor the situation and provide reports as more information becomes available.
WNEG News has received confirmation that there was a stabbing in Stephens County early this morning. The incident took place in the vicinity of Nub Garland Road, and a victim was life flighted from the parking lot at Liberty Baptist Church off Cawthon and Fairgrounds roads.
