Spread of COVID-19 continue to slow in Stephens County

The spread of COVID-19 continues to slow in Stephens County.

According to the Department of Public Health, there have been 4,525 total cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County, since the start of the pandemic, an increase of 36 since WNEG’s report last week.

In the last two weeks, ending October 29, the DPH reports a total of 86 new cases in Stephens County.

For surrounding counties, Habersham County has 83 new cases in the last 2 weeks, Rabun County has 50, Banks County has 34, Franklin County 18, and Hart County has 31 new cases.

In Georgia, the DPH is reporting 1,263,757 total cases, an increase of 4,293 since WNEG’s report last week. The DPH also reports an increase of 297 deaths since WNEG’s report on Thursday, bringing the total to 24,786 confirmed COVID-related deaths across the state of Georgia.
