Spill Cleaned Up Thursday on Hwy. 145 in Toccoa
Highway 145 is back to normal in the area of Rose Lane after a spill Thursday night.
Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell said that police were called to the intersection of Highway 145 and Rose Lane just after 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
Jarrell said a truck spilled a load of what appeared to be food waste in the roadway.
He added that the spill covered an area of Highway 145 from the Rose Lane intersection, south towards the Toccoa By-pass.
The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and Toccoa Fire Department also responded to the scene, with fire crews helping to clean up the roadway.
The road was closed for a time while the cleanup took place.
There are no reports of any injuries.
