Yesterday morning, May, 7, just after 7:15 a.m., Habersham County Emergency Services and the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wreck involving injuries on Talmadge Drive at Ga. 15 in Hollywood. The crash closed one southbound lane of Ga. 15 and the section of Talmadge Drive between Ga. 15 and Old Historic Highway 441 for about two hours.

According to Georgia State Patrol reports received this morning from Georgia State Patrol, a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Ronald Thompson of Clayton was traveling South on Georgia 15 in the right travel lane and a GMC Safari, driven by Linda Holtzclaw of Toccoa, was traveling with a 6-year-old male passenger, north on Georgia 17-Alternate.  Thompson failed to stop for the traffic control device and the front of the Chevrolet struck the passenger side of GMC, causing the Chevrolet to rotate counterclockwise and come to an uncontrolled rest facing North on Talmadge Drive. The GMC came to an uncontrolled rest facing South on Talmadge Drive. The 6-year-old was transported to NEGA Gainesville for suspected serious injuries.
