Sign-up for Angel Tree Program ends today

Today is the last day for parents and guardians to sign their children up to receive Christmas gifts through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.

Brenda Gragg is a social worker with the Salvation Army Toccoa.

She says that the Angel Tree Program is an opportunity for the community to come together and ensure that every child can open a present this Christmas.

Registration for the Angel Tree Program will end today.

Registration will run from 10 a.m. until noon, from 1 until 4 p.m. and from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the Salvation Army of Toccoa, located at 306 E. Franklin Street.

Gragg says there are a few documents parents and guardians will need to bring in to sign a child up to be a recipient of the Angel Tree Program.

Gragg encourages parents to only register through one agency; rather than the other agencies that offer similar programs, to ensure that every child’s needs are met.

Again, today is the last day to register for the Angel Tree program.

Gragg adds that the Salvation Army is currently taking sign-ups for volunteer bell ringers.

She says that if you are interested in volunteering this holiday season, you can come by the Salvation Army office or you can call 706-886-5293.
