Shots fired outside London’s results in 1 arrested and others sought

According to authorities, in the early hours of New Year’s day two individuals allegedly fired shots in the air outside London’s on Hwy 123.

Deputies with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 1:20 a.m. Monday morning.

According to a press release issued by the Sheriff’s Office, the two individuals had been denied entrance into the building, due to a private party being held.

Afterwards the two individuals returned to their vehicle and began to shoot firearms into the air, causing panic both inside and outside of the venue, before fleeing from the area.

Stephens County E-911 received multiple calls about the incident and the Toccoa Police Department responded to the scene to assist.

After establishing order, deputies began to search the area for evidence and located several bullet casings in the parking lot.

Deputies also noticed a large amount of empty alcohol containers as well as a smell of burnt marijuana from inside the building.

Due to a history of incidents and complaints at London’s, the owner, Lablanca Tapanga Harbin, 41, of Toccoa, was arrested and charged with maintaining a disorderly house.

Sheriff Randy Shirley stated, quote “I am thankful no one was injured during the incident.”

The investigation is ongoing and further criminal charges are expected.
