Shots fired on Whitman Street

The Toccoa Police Department responded to a call on Monday, March 12, 2018, at approximately 5:15 p.m. regarding shots being fired on Whitman Street near the basketball courts.

Once officers arrived on scene they were able to speak with witnesses, leading officers to determine that the shooter ran from the scene and the victim left.

A BOLO (Be on the lookout) was placed on a vehicle that witnesses said left the scene.

While responding to the area near the intersection of Currahee Street and Big A Road, officers spotted the vehicle and were able to conduct a felony stop on the vehicle.

The occupants of the vehicle were taken to the Toccoa Police Department for questioning.

The case is still under investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
