Police Dept. Looking for Suspects Involved in Shooting at Cambridge Apartments

No arrests have been made regarding the shooting that occurred at Cambridge Apartments on South Pond Street Tuesday night.

According to Police Chief Tim Jarrell, around 9:57 p.m. Tuesday night, the police department received a report of a shooting that had occurred at the apartments after an argument began regarding two individual who went through the fence that is surrounding the apartment in order to cut through the parking lot.

“When officers arrived on scene, they found a white male had been shot in the lower leg,” said Jarrell. “Witnesses stated to us that two black males were crossing the parking lot behind a fenced area when they were confronted for crossing the property an argument began. As the two black males were leaving the area, one of them produced a handgun, shot several times in the air according to witnesses, and the last shot was directed at our victim and some other people that were gathered around.”

The victim was a 42-year-old white male and was transported to Stephens County Hospital.

He was treated and later released.

No arrests have been made at this point and Jarrell said at this point in the investigation, they have some suspects.
