Sheriff’s Deputies Recovery of Stolen Property Leads to Drug Arrest

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley reports the arrest of an individual on drug charges.

On June 26, Stephens County Sheriff’s Office investigators received an anonymous tip that led to the recovery of stolen property and narcotics at a residence on Sweetgum Road in Eastanollee

According to Sheriff Shirley, investigators followed up with the lead provided, and were able to obtain a search warrant.

Shirley said that during the search, investigators were able to recover several stolen items, including a firearm. These recovered items had been reported stolen at different locations within Stephens County.

Also located during the search was multiple bags of Methamphetamine, various scheduled narcotics, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

The suspect, identified as Amanda Crawford, 33 of Toccoa, was arrested and charged with possession of Methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, 2 counts of Theft by Receiving, and 6 counts of Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

Crawford was transported to the Stephens County Jail where she is being held on a $25,000 bond.
