Shady shores burglary results in two arrested

A Shady Shores area shop, located in Martin, was burglarized early Friday morning, resulting in the arrest of two individuals, Jacob Payne, 22, of Eastanollee, and Chelsea Swift, 25, of Clarkesville.

The victim reported that their shop was locked and entry had been forced.

According to Sheriff Randy Shirley, the culprits made off with two four wheelers and a chainsaw loaded on a trailer; however, the victim’s security surveillance provided video footage of the individuals responsible for the burglary.

After searching throughout the day, Friday, both Payne and Swift were found in Franklin County.

In Payne’s possession was a quantity of methamphetamine and prescription medicine.

Payne is charged with burglary in the second degree, possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance.

Swift is charged with burglary in the second degree.
