Several Fall events happening this weekend in Toccoa-Stephens County

Toccoa-Stephens County has several fall-themed events going on this weekend.

On Friday, Main Street Toccoa is hosting its 30th annual Children’s Costume Parade.

According to Main Street Toccoa Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby, the annual parade will start at 10 a.m.; but she says children will begin lining up at 9:30 a.m. at the corner of Doyle and Alexander Streets.

Crosby says children wearing homemade costumes who would like to be judged will form one line, while those who prefer not to be judged will form the outside line. Prizes will be awarded in various categories for ages 2 and below, 3, and 4 and above.

Crosby says parents or guardians will need to fill out a form for their children to be judged in the contest. The parade events are expected to be finished by 11:30 a.m.

Then, the 44th annual Toccoa Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Crosby says this year the Harvest Festival will feature more than 100 craft and food vendors.

“This year’s Harvest Festival is going to be on October 30th and 31st. We’re real excited about the vendors that we have coming. There’s always good food and activities for the kids. We’re looking forward to a great time,” she said.

Crosby says the 44th annual Harvest Festival will feature several different entertainment options.

“We hope to have over 100 vendors, and they’ll be lined up on Doyle Street between Hill Street and Alexander. Of course, we have entertainment for both days. We’ll have a tent with tables sponsored by Mike Jones so people can come and buy their food and sit and enjoy the entertainment this year,” she said.

She says there will be many activities for children as well.

Also, on Saturday, the Toccoa-Stephens County Airport will hold its Hallo-Wing Fling Trick-or-Treat event at 2 p.m.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, the Pointe Church will host a Fall Fun event for 1st through 5th Graders; then at 6 p.m. St. Mary’s Catholic Church will host a Trunk-or-Treat event. On Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Toccoa First United Methodist Church will give out Treat Bags to Trick-or-Treaters. And at 6 p.m. Ebenezer Baptist Church will host a Trunk-or-Treat event.
