Several District 2 COVID Testing Sites shutting down

The DPH is shutting down several COVID-19 Testing Sites throughout District 2.

The testing site at Stephens County Hospital is one that will no longer operate after Friday.

According to a press release issued this week, District 2 Public Health has announced that they along with Mako Labs and LTS are making changes to COVID-19 testing site operations; however, the release stresses that the fight against COVID-19 is not over.

District 2 Public Health will continue to provide COVID vaccines at all 13 county health departments on a walk-in basis.

These are the testing sites that will close.

Franklin County Health Department and Lumpkin County Health Departments’ last day offering COVID testing is April 21.

Habersham Medical Center will cease operations on April 21.

Stephens County Hospital will stop offering testing on April 22.

NGHS Braselton will stop on April 22, and the Rabun Community Market testing location will close on April 22.

These are the testing sites that will remain open.

In Forsyth County the Central Park Recreation Complex, located at 2300 Keith Bridge Road, in Cumming; in Hall County, Sherwood Plaza, located at 601 S. Enota Drive Northeast, in Gainesville; and in Union County, Union General Hospital, located at 35 Hospital Road, in Blairsville.
