Senior Center Director Lisa Thomas moving on

After 10 years, Stephens County Senior Center Director Lisa Thomas is moving on.

Thomas has submitted her resignation to the County Board of Commissioners.

She tells WNEG News that her decision to leave was a tough one.

The Stephens County Senior Center has long been a gathering place for anyone over the age of 55 who is a resident can come for a time of fun and fellowship, as well as place to take part in a variety of activities.

Thomas said during her time as Senior Center Director, some programs were expanded while others were streamlined.

Thomas is leaving to take a job with WoodmenLife as their Community Outreach Director for the North Georgia region.

She says her responsibilities at the Senior Center will translate well in her new role.

Thomas’ last day at the Senior Center is Thursday.

So far, the County has not announced her replacement.
