SCSO make multiple arrests in three separate incidents

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office made arrests in three separate incidents on July 30.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, the first arrest came after investigators initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Georgia Hwy 17. He says during the traffic stop investigators could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle which led to a subsequent search of the vehicle and occupants.

During the search, Investigators located a firearm, along with a quantity of methamphetamine in the center console area in the vehicle.

Keshaun Andrice Smith, 21, of Toccoa was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies.

Tyler Jarrell Cash, 25, of Toccoa was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies. Both individuals are being held at Stephens County Jail awaiting bond.

Shirley says later investigators initiated a traffic stop on Collins Road. During the traffic stop deputies gained consent to search the vehicle from the driver.

During the search a quantity of methamphetamine, along with digital scales and a glass smoking device were located in the glove box.  These items were claimed by the passenger.

Jeremy Maney, 30, of Toccoa was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and transported to the Stephens County Jail. Maney is being held at Stephens County Jail awaiting bond.

Then, on July 30, Shirley says investigators went to Quality Inn on Stephens Circle to follow up on information they had received in regard to ongoing drug activity.

Upon arrival investigators made contact with two individuals, identified as Joseph McGarity Adams, 30, and Liana Marie Kilby, 28, both of Toccoa. The pair were both on bond out of Stephens County for possession of illegal narcotics.

A search of their room was conducted based on a fourth amendment waiver, during this search investigators recovered a quantity of methamphetamine as well as a quantity of marijuana.

Both were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and transported to Stephens County Jail.
