SCPC will meet next week for Regular meeting

The Stephens County Planning Commission will meet on Tuesday, September 6, at 7:00 p.m. for its regular scheduled meeting.

The meeting will be held in the Stephens County Historic Courthouse.

The planning commission will hold two public hearings for two requested variances.

The first variance request is from Kayla Brouwer for the property located at 152 Seven Forks Road, in Martin. The property is currently zoned as Residential Single. The proposed action is to grant a variance for a second residence on the property.

The second variance request is from Teresa Oswald for the property located at 499 Currahee Point, in Toccoa. The property is currently zoned as residential single. The proposed action is to grant a variance for an 8-foot side setback for a garage.

Following the public hearings, the Commission will consider motions to approve or deny the aforementioned variance requests.

If the variance requests are approved by the planning commission, the Stephens County Board of Commissioners will then pick up the requests at its next meeting for final approval.
